Common use of Xalatan eye drops

Xalatan is used to decrease high pressure in the eye in the patients who have open-angle glaucoma. Xalatan can be prescribed alone or with other glaucoma medications.

Xalatan Dosage and directions

Use the medication Xalatan exactly as prescribed. Apply one drop to the eye in the evening.

Precautions before using Xalatan

Xalatan can change the color of eyelids. Also it can change eyelashes and fine body hair and increase color, number, length, thickness of lashes or hairs. Also eyelashes can grow in the wrong direction.

Xalatan can la color of eye's iris to brown. You can't notice the change during months and even years.

Contraindications

Do not use Xalatan if you are hypersensitivity to it, if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, o breastfeeding.

Xalatan side effects

They include blurred vision, increased pigmentation of the iris, blood shot eyes, burning, foreign body sensation, inflammatory disease of cornea, itching, upper inflammatory infection, stinging.

Drug interactions

Xalatan can't be used with other eye drops which contain thiomersal. It can cause formation of solid substances in the eye. Take the drops with 5 minute interval to avoid this.

Missed dose

If you missed a Xalatan dose apply it as soon as possible. If it is almost time of your next dose just skip it and return to your regular shelude. Never double your dose.

Xalatan Overdose

Symptoms of Xalactan overdose include eye irritation and bloodshot eyes. If you suspect that overdosed the medication seek medical attention at once.

Storage

Store unopened Xalatan bottles in the refrigerator. Once opened, the Xalatan bottles may be stored at room temperature for up to 6 weeks. Protect from light.
